Welcome back team SA – you made us super proud!
With the return of our South African Fighters comes big stories of exciting new experiences and new formed friendships. We are truly proud to have you back home safe and sound.
This year south Africa sent a total of 5 fighters to the IMCF world champs hosted in Denmark and they have fought so well and made us proud. Three of the fighters made it through to the quarter finals playoffs and quarter finals.

The results are as follow:
Christa Heysen Martin with long sword had an amazing victory over the UK. The fight against Poland lasted three rounds and Poland took the victory. Christa progressed to the quarter finals and faced Ukraine valiantly and fought her heart out. Ukraine took the victory.
Christa also took part in the Polearm division and faced Denmark, New Zealand, Germany and the USA. She won against New Zealand and Germany. Well done Christa. You have made us proud!
Stephanie Roets competed in the Sword and Shield division and made it through to the quarter finals playoffs where she fought and won against France, Italy and Estonia. Stephanie then faced New Zealand in the quarter final playoffs and had a hard 3 rounds which the victor then went to New Zealand.
Oliver Dry competed in the Polearm division and faced brutal competition where he fought against giants from Quebec, Germany, Denmark and Scottland. Oliver really showed them that size does not matter and gave those big dudes some really hard hits!!
Henry Booysen competed in the Sword and Shield division and also fought hard and made it through to the quarter finals playoff. Henry fought and won against Canada and Australia but had a hard fight against Quebec where he lost. Henry then progressed to the quarter finals playoffs where he had fought against New Zealand and lost after 3 hard rounds.
Our womens 3v3 bohurt team consisting of Christa Heysen Marting, Bronwen Huysamer and Stephanie Roets fought against UK, Quebec and Finland. They fought really hard and won against the UK but unfortunately lost against Quebec and Finland. Some of our girls endured through the fights with injuries and truly showed sportsmanship. We Are truly proud of you all.
In over all we are super satisfied with the results and have learned some valuable lessons. We are now going to utilize on these experiences and work hard towards the next championship and bring home some medals. Well done Team SA!!
